Hi OSC, I'm not sure that Leo could have killed the pastor, gone and cleaned up, and gotten back in time to call 911. It doesn't match up with the violence of the attack, and the weapons of opportunity (the crosses). It's likely that if he'd been that careful, that he'd have brought his own weapon. The actual murder seems to be a murder of passion and extreme rage, not careful planning. As for Joey, I think we definitely have a motive for embezzlement. Looking at the financial statement, he has debts far in excess of his assets. That's definitely a motive for embezzlement. If he felt the Pastor was going to report him, that's also a strong motive for murder. I want to know how far away the church is from the Sanford home. It's possible that Liam could have ridden a bike or walked there if it's close. He's still high on my list, too, but so is Emmett. The interview with Fay's boyfriend is also interesting. I don't see him as a suspect, but what he said about the church's security could be a clue. There was not much stopping the killer getting into the church, by the sound of it.

Yes, I agree that Joey is also high on the list. At the very least, if he isn't involved in the murder, it does look likely that he was stealing money from Zina's donations.

Oi! Well, after reading the Zina follow-up, I have another strong suspect to add to the list. Sounds like the Pastor gave a card to Joey, too, with a Proverb on it. The quote also fits Joey's situation, since he wouldn't admit to taking money. Ugh. Well, Joey certainly would have motive, if the Pastor was getting close to outing him as the embezzler.
