I think you are correct. It does seem highly plausible. I think that he hit her with the shovel probably when she turned away threatening to call the police about Thoreau. He mentioned in his follow-up interview that she called the police on him before and threatened to call them on other occasions. I like your theory about her saying something derogatory about him in relation to his wife. That sounds possible. Since she called the police and threatened to call the police in the past, I imagine there was some other factor in their argument that made him snap. Speaking to him about his wife definitely could have done it. She could have threatened to call the police, turned to walk away, and said something regarding his wife. Since he would have had the shovel near him (since the neighbor said he was outside clacking away with a hoe or shovel), he could have just snapped and hit her.

I really don't know what to believe about the pregnancy test. I wonder what Cheryl's re-interview will uncover. I think I will ask The Detective about the electric fence. That bothers me. I find it strange that it was never mentioned until this point.

There are so many possible connections in this case. It makes my head spin. I keep going back to Arthur because he had motive, means, AND opportunity. One issue brought up today, is that Kim had changed clothes AFTER getting the books returned from her neighbor. The neighbor at that time said she seemed rushed, like something was wrong. I am trying to determine what this fact implies. I know it means she wasn't worried for her life at that time. I suppose if her dog was sick, she may have put on more comfortable clothes on that she wasn't afraid of getting dirty. Oh, I don't know! I can't wait until we have all the information.

Just a thought, but what about Autumn Crocus? It blooms in September. Just thinking about possible toxic flora. It is listed as one of the most common plants poisonous to dogs. Just strange that two September's in a row that both dog's are poisoned. Could be just a HUGE coincidence though.
