With the limited information that I have. And just a few days to review the case, my first inclination would be to track down the secret gentleman
in her life.... who paid her rent for her.
On the surface it appears that he might be a married man, possibly with a family or a reputation that he must uphold in the community. These affairs often turn dangerously sour when the mistress begins demanding that they bring their affair out into the open. The victim may even have been pushing her secret benefactor toward a marriage with her, thus divorcing his wife. In most of these cases, this is the very last thing that the secret friend would wish to do.
If the victim began making demands , or possibly threats of exposing the relationship, nshe just might have pushed her secret lover to do the unthinkable.
