Does J.Sholleburger have a criminal record?

Tue Dec 31 20:22:52 1996

In the file history are two faxes from Valerie to Purity that were released on October 16, 1996. Why are the dates on the top of the faxes dated March 1996 when Valerie was murdered in April 1995?

In the file history are two faxes from Valerie to Purity that were released on October 16, 1996. Why are the dates on the top of the faxes dated March 1996 when Valerie was murdered in April 1995?

Tue Dec 31 10:05:03 1996

Just a thought..The timing of V's death may not be right. Maybe she got up from sleeping and lovemaking the night before (the used condom flushed down the toilet hours before this), took a shower and cleaned herself, got dressed etc. and maybe layed back down and could have been involved in a heavy discussion with her murderer (probably G.) about his brother etc. In a rage over her remarks, the murderer then shot her and carried her immediately to the kitchen where she was stabbed. That might explain the blood on the kitchen floor too. The bullet was actually found in her, true?
Something is not right about the shooting and the bathing by the murderer. I think that the actual times are a little off.

Tue Dec 31 02:27:47 1996

Maybe a talk with the remaining Giblini family is in order.
Ask them about Terrance.

Tue Dec 31 02:25:01 1996

It seems that Lisa Wood had an abortion. (From reference
in postcard to the bartender and mother's comments)
Has anyone interviewed Briana or Rooth or David for
additional info?

Tue Dec 31 01:33:15 1996

I was wondering whether the original DNA blood tests for
the blood on the cat matched that of the other Giblini
brothers or the father. A check if it matched William
Giblini's blood would at least verify that what Greg said
is true. The A-line in the DNA tests indicate that the
blood of the 3rd person might be a relative of Greg's even
though it was not his. Would be nice to confirm this.
(Should check the third brother Tom's blood too and the
father)

Mon Dec 30 22:47:18 1996

who's blood was on the cat?

Mon Dec 30 19:07:28 1996

The escalation of violence at the crime scene indicates the perpetrator could be either male or female. A woman is more likely to shoot first then mutilate as she has to overpower her victim before she can do anything else. Whereas because of his strength a man is more likely to torture first then stab the victim.
The violent scenarios of this perpetrator are highly developed as "they" mutilate after death. This also indicates that they have done this crime or one very similiar before. This assumption is backed up because they moved the body several times before it was left in the kitchen. The washing of the body indicates the perpetrator has prior knowledge of forensic methods. Therefore it is suggested that if the perpetrator is a male he will have a criminal record.
If the perpetrator is a woman she will most likely not have a previous criminal record. However she may know the victim. If she does not know the victim it is suggested that she may have committed similiar crimes within a 25 km radius.

The blood on the cat is difficult to explain. I assume there is evidencece to indicate the perpetrator bled somewhere else at the victim's house and not only on the cat. The cat may have jumped on the bed when the victim was being stabbed and the perpetrator may have been cut and then their blood got on the cat.

Anyway that is what I think. Cheers Kate M. Moser.

Mon Dec 30 14:43:05 1996

Was alcohol involved with this murder? and is her boyfriend a
suspect?

Mon Dec 30 03:11:23 1996

1.Doesn't the pants Val is wearing in the pictures you just posted look alot like the ones she has on when she was killed?
I don't know if this site is real. But, wether it's real or not I like this site and it keep ya thinking.

Response: The victim was wearing pajama pants in the crime scene photographs. There is some similarlity.

For information regarding the reality of this site write [email protected] with the subject heading FAULKNER

Sat Dec 28 21:51:22 1996

Could'nt Greg have been with her that night , had sex, smoked
somepot, then left? Then someone else she knew came
and killed her? Also, how can the blood have splaterred so much
an hour after she died, according to the coroner?

Sat Dec 28 12:17:15 1996

What newspaper wrote that article about Frank K it had more errors in one article then I have seen in a whole newspaper.

Sat Dec 28 07:59:39 1996

I ask again, since you chose to not answer the first time:

Why do you provide the e-mail accounts of two principles in the case?

Fri Dec 27 13:27:28 1996

Where was the information about the plane ticket? I missed that

Thu Dec 26 22:04:52 1996

I know this is a stupid question, but is this a real case, and how do you find out the answers?

Thu Dec 26 19:30:41 1996

Why do you think there were condoms at the scene when she was on the pill? I would think that Greg Knew she was on the pill, but someone not quite so close wouldn't - (more likely to be a man?)

Thu Dec 26 19:25:55 1996

Asthere were no fingerprints of any kind this appears to be a planned murder. So if Greg did it, he was clever enough to get rid of any finger prints but leaves a whole pile of hard evidence - such as the condoms etc.
The only way i can see that this is not planned is if the murderer was caught by one of their friends - Greg/Purity/Joey.

Did Greg smoke pot, or Purity?

Thu Dec 26 19:12:12 1996

Is it possible that purity was having sex with greg kept the codoms went to Valerie's place shot her and blamed it all on greg?
If not then is it possible that Joey killed her because she didn't fancy him and greg just happenned to have sex with her beforehand.Do you think he would be a good enough actor to dress up as Greg?
If not could it have been all thre of them, or a mixture of two - say Greg and Purity, or Joey and Purity?

Thu Dec 26 14:00:49 1996

If the victim was bathed after the murder, why is there blood on the kitchen floor appearing to come from her abdomen? People do not bleed when they are dead. Also, if she was shot in the bedroom, where does the high velocity blood splatter come from that is on the refrigerator?

Thu Dec 26 01:18:06 1996

Is this case made-up or is it ACTUALLY REAL?!?

Response: All questions related to the veracity of this site should be directed to [email protected] with the Subject: heading Faulkner.

Thu Dec 26 01:16:37 1996

Have they found out if it was suicide that killed Greg
Giblini yet?

Wed Dec 25 09:38:14 1996

It seems possible that William Giblini may have had an affair with the victim. Greg may have found out and not been too happy about it. I do wonder why the body was moved from the bedroom to the kitchen. Could it be that the killer was going to remove the body from the house and changed his/her mind for fear of being caught?

Response: It's possible.

Tue Dec 24 09:53:41 1996

What is the purpose of providing the AOL addresses of two of the principles in the case?

Mon Dec 23 20:14:53 1996

From what had been written about Purity Knight, I was under the impression that she was missing. Now, her parents have set up and email account for her, and allow it in an investigation they're threatning to sue? Is she or is she not a "missing Person" and has this been at all looked at for some type of foul play. Oregon and CA are awfully close...

Mon Dec 23 19:34:38 1996

Could the third person be William?

Response: To which third person are you referring?

Mon Dec 23 16:47:38 1996

i once again could not cotact lisa wood and also i could not contact armstrong. whats the problem are you even real? it says for lisa user name unknown and for armstrong host unknown.

Response: All the addresses listed at this site are real. We apologize if you receive error messages.

Mon Dec 23 14:11:08 1996

WERE THERE ANY FINGER PRINTS OR ANY OTHER PHYSICAL EVIDENCE FOUND AT THE SCENE? IF THE THEORY THAT THE SUSPECT TOOK A SHOWER IS EVEN TO BE VALIDATED THERE MUST BE HAIR OR SOMEHTING EITHER THAT OR THEY WERE LIKE MOLLY MAID CLEANING SERVICES OR SOMETHING.

Response: No fingerprints or physical evidence were found.

Mon Dec 23 11:53:40 1996

Question:was she in the house alone when she was mudered? were the doors & windows locked?

Response: It is unclear whether the victim was alone when she was murdered. The door was found unlocked. The windows were locked.

Sun Dec 22 06:00:08 1996

during the crime scene examination did you recover any footwear impressions..??

Response: No footwear impressions were recovered.

Sat Dec 21 14:14:42 1996

Has anyone thought to contact one of the many psychics that work with police agencies? Joanne in Montana

Response: We have had several offers from psychics, but have not commissioned their services so far.

Sat Dec 21 13:58:28 1996

Is therer a way to find out who was reading V's diary via the modem connection ? It seems the perpetrator had knowledge of V's diary and it's contents. Did the computer that G gave to V once belong to W ?

Response: Any access logs were lost when the computer's hard drive was destroyed. The computer formerly belonged to Greg Giblini.

Sat Dec 21 13:43:42 1996

Was V's former roommate B ever interviewed ? If so what did she have to say about V and her relationship with G and W ? And did she have any comments about the phone calls V was getting?

Fri Dec 20 17:26:00 1996

Would it be possible that mabe Valerie was having an affair with William and Greg foung out about it? Then Greg got Cindy Gold to go with him to kill Valerie. After theykilled Valerie, Cindy left and Greg went to go kill William.

Response: We do not currently consider Gold a suspect.

Fri Dec 20 16:22:35 1996

Is there a hallway between Val's bedroom and the kitchen? How far is it from the bedroom to the kitchen?

Fri Dec 20 13:42:48 1996

WERE THERE ANY OTHER FINGERPRINTS BESIDES THE VICTIMS IN ALL OF THE MURDERS?

Fri Dec 20 13:24:44 1996

what time did the murder happened

Response: The Vilson murder took place at approximately 6 a.m.

Fri Dec 20 11:44:33 1996

I may have missed this previously, but did you ever discover the identity of the man in the photograph that was on the refrigerator?

Response: The man was identified as Will Giblini.

Fri Dec 20 09:41:04 1996

Who do think was the main suspect

Response: We're looking at some new credit card related information. No word at this time regarding who it leads to. It doesn't lead to Greg Giblini

Wed Dec 18 17:00:03 1996

Disgusting as this is to ask, what type of abortion did Purity have and could this be the link to the disfigured body of Valerie Vilson? (Dumdedum dum duuuummmmm)

Response: Records between doctor and patient remain confidential. However, according to medical professionals, Knight almost certainly would have undergone a walk-in procedure under local anaesthetic. No incisions would have been made on the abdomen.

Wed Dec 18 16:58:26 1996

Do we have any further information about possible weapons that are 1/4" in diameter. It seems that this was a sympolic tool used, otherwise, why not use a kitchen knife. Was this ever located?

Response: The weapon was never located.

Wed Dec 18 16:53:54 1996

If, in fact, the blood was sprayed on the fridge purposefully, would it not suggest something important about the fridge, it's contents, or the picture (the only thing of importance noted)? Was anything found in the fridge? I can buy into the bathing and dressing as a ritual, but aren't rituals repeated? Have we seen any other pattern of behavior repeated? no. People are creatures of habit. I think we are looking at more than 1 killer here. The other fact that the Giblini family is closely connected to the murders suggests that the acts are not religious in nature, but domestic or vengeful. I think that we're barking up the wrong tree with the "avengers"

Wed Dec 18 16:21:49 1996

I TRIED TO SEND MAIL TO LISA WOOD AND IT SAYS THAT IT'S NOT A KNOWN USER. THEN I BRIEFLY READ SOMETHING ABOUT SHE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL OR SOMETHING SO I'M I THE ONLY ONE WHOSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

Response: Her e-mail address is [email protected].

Wed Dec 18 07:33:05 1996

I understand Purity is currently missing - but do we know if she ran away or is there any evidence of foul play? Could she be the 4th victim?

Response: She is in contact with her parents. They recently set up an e-mail account for her. [email protected]

Tue Dec 17 16:01:44 1996

Were there any kind of tests done to see if Valerie Vilson was pregnant?

Response: Tests were performed. No pregnancy

Tue Dec 17 13:33:05 1996

The detectives posit the mutilation of Val may have been associated with some kind of ritual. If the killing can be called 'ritualistic' in nature, to what ritual is it most similar?

If you can characterize the murder as ritualistic, you're missing other observations about the crime scene. The bullet wound to the back of the head is so antithetical to the abdominal mutilation as to be unrelated. You say the murderer is pyschotic, but placing the blame on possible nuerosis keeps you from seeing that Val may have been shot by one person and mutilated by another.

Based on your best forensic evidence, how long was it between the time that V was murdered and the time her body was found? How long between the gun shot and the abdominal mutilation? What purpose would it serve the murderer to shoot Val and then bathe her and then mutilate her?

Death (gun shot) Baptism (bathing, or cleansing) Resurrection (mutilation)...

Mon Dec 16 13:16:07 1996

You know, Frank is a lawyer - therefore it is likely his initial reaction to threaten suit on someone. just because he is a zealot does not mean that he has done something wrong or that he is a red herring - although he is running for office.

The only knight that we should be worried about is Purity because she seems to be an instigator of conflict between Val and the Knights. She also had access to Val's new address. Not to mention, that mental disease is genetic. If Val was being treated for depression, then we can assume that others in her family also have had difficulties. Further, how do we know that Purity isn't having some perverse reaction to her own actions in having the abortion, blaming Val, and sending her the literature on abortion herself?

Response: Purity Knight, along with her family, had an alibi for the night of the Vilson murder. She has no history of mental disturbance, although her height and weight statistics suggest that she may have been anorexic. We do have a number of questions for her. Anyone with information pertaining to Ms. Knight's whereabouts should contact [email protected].

Mon Dec 16 13:11:10 1996

You know, we don't seem to have any information about the Giblini family and their reaction to having two of their sons killed on opposite coasts. We also don't have any information from Jennifer, Will's wife. Why were they breaking up? Was she surprised he was killed? Perhaps it is not drugs that was the motivating factor, but secrets - Mr. Giblini did work for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Do we know what capacity? And most importantly, when Val referred to "code" Greg was writing on her computer, did she mean a program code or a cutsie-lovebird-type secret game she and Greg had together. Who owned the computer before her?

Response: We have interviewed several family members and Jennifer Giblini. They have asked that most information pertaining to the case remain confidential. However, we expect to receive permission to release some documents shortly.
Mr. Giblini works in engineering at the commission's office in Nashville.
It is unclear whether victim Vilson was referring to computer code. Greg Giblini was the previous owner of her computer.

Mon Dec 16 12:54:28 1996

What was in the package that Valerie sent to Purity?

Response: We have not recovered the package.

Mon Dec 16 12:53:31 1996

Who is Caddy?

Response: According to a fax from Purity Knight, she met Caddy at a religious camp. The two became friends and traveled to Europe together with a youth group in the summer of 1995.

Mon Dec 16 12:52:55 1996

Was Valerie Vilson's body dragged or carried to the kitchen (implying strength or size and possibly gender of killer)

Response: The lack of blood in the hallway leading to the kitchen suggests that she was carried.

Mon Dec 16 12:51:58 1996

Was there evidence of ectopic pregnancy in Valerie Vilson?

Response: No. Tests turned up negative.

Mon Dec 16 12:51:16 1996

Has anyone interviewed the physician who perscribed the BCPs and Prozac to Valerie?

Response: Yes. Information shared between doctor and patient remains confidential.

Mon Dec 16 12:50:30 1996

Was the blood noted on the fridge secondary to Valerie Vilson's death or was Greg a little too fiesty with the S&M thing?

Response: The blood was a result of the murder. We believe the killer splashed the blood onto the fridge deliberately after mutilating the corpse.

Mon Dec 16 12:49:12 1996

Why was Valerie Vilson dressed after she was killed and why did the killer give her a purse and not shoes?

Response: There was no purse found near the victim's body in the kitchen. The purse documented on this site was on the floor near the main entry door to the apartment, where presumably the victim left it last.
As to why the body was clothed, some have suggested that the act may have been part of a ritual.

Mon Dec 16 12:48:04 1996

How did Purity's parents find out she had an abortion?

Response: Purity stole money from her boyfriend, Jake Rohleen, to fund the procedure. When he discovered the missing funds, Jake contacted Frank Knight.

Mon Dec 16 12:47:29 1996

Was Valerie Vilson's body disfigured in a particular fashion?

Response: To read about the stab wounds to the abdomen, please consult the coroner's report.

Mon Dec 16 12:46:38 1996

Were Frank and Judy ever questioned as to why they only included 1 daughter in their bios?

Response: Frank and Judith Knight gave up Valerie for adoption immediately after she was born. Although they were reunited shortly before the murder, they were not close. They probably did not consider her part of the family.

Mon Dec 16 12:44:40 1996

Were the overalls ever located by forensics in Valerie Vilson's apartment?

Response: Yes. They were on the floor in the victim's closet.

Mon Dec 16 01:49:54 1996

Saw a few very interesting theories-after looking over much of the info, I'm still curious as to what,if any, ties W.and
G. hd to the drug world-ALSO--this business,"Rosebud"--how
much was this business worth-how closely did G and W wrk on this venture?-Did W have bi-coastal links
that would necessitate him being on the east coast? Any info about W.'s wife?-was she part of the "family business"?
--It just seems to me W murdered Val,G murdered W--the mur-
der of G sms like it wld be alot easier to understand if there were some more of the aforementioned info--sms like
that's the one missing link--

Response: Federal authorities are currently investigating any possible drug connection. Their activities are classified.
As to Rosebud, the company has no East Coast offices or affiliates. Will's wife, Jennifer, worked as a documentation specialist on a freelance basis, but severed her affiliation with the company after his death. We continue to investigate leads in this area.

Sun Dec 15 23:32:25 1996

I believe that it is possible that the DNA evidence suggests that the killer of Valerie Vilson was both male and had tracable evidence of a genetic link to Greg Giblini, therefore I suggest that the man killed in Florida was actually Greg Giblini and his brother William assumed his identity. I believe the motive for killing Valerie was her discovery that William was posing as Greg. No one seems to be in contact with "greg" for any length of time and contact minimal, therefore it is possible that William was found out. Given his link to drugs and his ability to "get good stuff", I believe that William was involved in drug trafficking and this is why he needed to kill his brother and assume his identity.

My questions:

1. Were dental records, not just photographs, available from the body found in California?

2. If there was an open condom package in Valerie Vilson's apartment, was a condom located? Was DNA evidence retreived from the semen?

3. Has anyone contacted the server that Valerie used for her internet and e-mail and fax service to see if there was any traces, unopened messages, or a phonebook?

4. Why was the body dressed after she was killed? Doesn't that seem redundant? Why would the killer wait around for an hour before he/she moved the body and presumably left? If this was a crime of passion, the killer doesn't usually stick around for a while afterwards - suggesting...it was premeditated.

Response: 1. Yes. The dental records were a positive match with Greg Giblini.
2. No condom was found.
3. We have contacted the server and retrieved some information which remains classified at this time.
4. An hour elapsed between the fatal bullet wound and the placement of the corpse in the kitchen. In the intervening time, the body was washed, clothed, and mutilated. Some have suggested that the postmortem activities were part of a ritual act.

Sat Dec 14 06:42:09 1996

Have you come up with any new leads??

Response: Yes. Unfortunately we can't release them to the public at this time.

Sat Dec 14 02:35:06 1996

Has Purity been located? and is she a suspect in Greg Giblini's death?
Also, has anyone looked into Vaskin Kissoyan having any involvement in any of the (but especially Greg's) murders.

Response: Purity Knight is not currently a suspect. We would like to bring her in for questioning.
Kissoyan is currently out of the country. We have yet to find any direct connection to the murders.

Fri Dec 13 15:17:15 1996

Good work Det. Friedman. Methinks Frank Knight protests to much. Were he innocent and interested in seeing justice done, he would cooperate with investigators rather than trying to sue them. Ever heard of a red herring? You're getting too close detectives.

Response: The Knight family has provided a confirmed alibi for the night of the Vilson murder. Although investigations are ongoing, Frank Knight is not currently considered a suspect.

Fri Dec 13 13:34:47 1996

When are we going to see some solid new evidence forthcoming in the investigation?

Response: We are currently developing a number of leads. We will release information to the public when it is safe to do so.

Thu Dec 12 22:31:07 1996

I asked about forced entry and the reply was negative. Would it be sane to believe that the victims knew their killerz??

Response: Yes.

Thu Dec 12 22:29:07 1996

The Visa number on the Airline ticket could provide an alibi for Greg. Why would he kill her only to send her a ticket in the mail? THat is assuming that the card is gregs. Lisa Wood?

Thu Dec 12 15:06:03 1996

how do you find the womam?

Response: Which woman? Please be more specific.

Thu Dec 12 11:44:40 1996

where were Giblini at the time for the crime?

Response: The exact whereabouts of both Will Giblini and Greg Giblini onthe night of the Vilson murder are unknown.

Thu Dec 12 08:00:05 1996

I think Greg's purchase of the condoms may purely be coincidential. Follow me on this. Let us say that the man named Will committed the murder. And let us say this guy Will frames Greg. Will may have known the guy at the store and may have even seen the video. He now knows that Greg purchases the condoms. For all we know Will may have been the jealous one because he knew that Valerie had an on going relationship with Greg. And since they do not keep track of the numbers of the condoms, how hard could it be to buy the same brand or steal them off Greg? ANd the bite on Will may have purely blood from the body of Valerie. I would suggest that you do an in depth investigation on this guy will. If you look deep enough I would guess that you may find evidence incriminating this guy Will to the crime.

Response: Thank you. We are currently following a number of leads.

Thu Dec 12 02:28:09 1996

Here's a theory on the murders:
I think Will came by Valerie's, because he wanted to be more than just friends. He may have become aggressive, causing the cat to bite him. Perhaps feeling embarrassed, he left. Greg could have seen Will enter the apartment and waited for him to leave. Greg then goes in and pretends to know nothing, convinced that Val and Will are having an affair. He and Val party for a while, then while she's sleeping he gets the gun and kills her.
Maybe he panicked then, stabbing her to make it look like the pro-lifers did it, and wiping the harddrive.
Then Greg tracks his brother down in Miami and exacts his revenge on him for trying to steal his girlfriend.
As for Greg's murder, I think that Purity killed him for murdering her sister. The church she belongs to is called 'Christ the Avenger' isn't it?

Response: Your theory is certainly plausible, although currently unsubstantiated. Purity Knight was attending classes at Reed College in Oregon when Giblini was killed, although we have not been able to determine whether she had an alibi for that date. She was no longer a member of the church at the time of the murder. We are currently on the lookout for her.

Thu Dec 12 02:00:45 1996

Here are some thoughts I had after viewing Valerie's diary:
It occured to me that maybe Valerie had some latent psychic abilities. Her strange dreams in which Greg was enraged and violent, the terrible abdominal cramps she had could have been a premonition of the stabbing in the kitchen. There's also the Ouija board session with her friends. She could have unknowingly directed the pointer, the "spirit" was right when it said that she and Greg would only last for 7 more weeks. And that quote from Sade that she liked so much about 'all evidence of my existence wiped out' is eerie when you think about how her hard drive, which contained her diary, was almost totally destroyed.
What are your thoughts on this?

RJ

Response: It's possible.

Wed Dec 11 21:35:14 1996

Could it have been a suicide pact between 2 persons? And the survivor chickened out and left?

Response: The wounds to the victim's abdomen could not have been self-inflicted.

Wed Dec 11 18:54:43 1996

I AM NEW AT THIS I JUST FOUND THE CASE YESTERDAY BUT I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT PURITY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF IT.

Response: Purity Knight and her family have a proven alibi for the night of the Vilson murder. But we'd like to talk with her and remain on the lookout.

Wed Dec 11 16:13:09 1996

HAS LISA WOODS BEEN REQUESTIONED AGAIN?

Response: According to our latest contact with her mother, Lisa Wood is currently undergoing treatment in Texas. We plan to visit her once she's been released.

Tue Dec 10 16:33:54 1996

Where does Greg G. live?

Response: Greg Giblini was found dead in his apartment in northern California on March 13 of this year.

Tue Dec 10 12:48:40 1996

Someone on Dec. 7th suggested employing an
animal psychic for interviewing the kitty.
Have you done this yet?
What did the kitty say?

So many people think that that animals have no thoughts, that they cannot cognate--we they probably don't think like
we do, but just because we can't understand them dosn't mean
they don't communicate.

Black cats have a strong relationship with the Devil,
you know.

Response: We have had several offers from psychics, but have not availed ourselves of their services as of yet.

Mon Dec 9 21:20:48 1996

where was the suspect at at the time of the death.

Response: To which suspect are you referring?

Mon Dec 9 17:43:46 1996

Was the victem raped?

Response: Any physical evidence of rape -- such as semen, blood, skin, or hair -- would have been removed when the killer bathed the victim's body post mortem. The coroner's report detected no signs of struggle or nonconsensual intercourse.

Mon Dec 9 15:16:34 1996

Tell us please, at this point in time, who are your main suspects in each of the killings?

Response: Sorry, that information is classified.

Mon Dec 9 15:15:43 1996

To whom was the plane ticket issued? Do we know where Greg was on that date? Brother Tom? Brother Will? Mom? Dad?

Mon Dec 9 15:14:23 1996

Has anybody interviewed family or friends regarding Greg's problem with his brother Will? Obviously there were some leftover sibling issues that were never resolved. Were they over the edge?

Since Greg thought Will always wanted whatever Greg had and we know Will was in Valerie's apartment on the night of the murder, is it plausible that Will showed up at Valerie's, attempted to seduce her, even opened a condom package his brother left in her bedside table, and then was rebuffed. In a rage, he killed her.

Perhaps his plan was to use her and then brag to Greg about it. (sibling rivalry gone very bad) When she rebuffed him, maybe he killed so Greg wouldn't never know he didn't have sex with her. Or maybe he was in the process of raping her at gun point when the gun went off.

Or since he knew of her involvement with her "natural" parents, he might have staged the rest to throw suspicion off of him and on to them.

But maybe Greg saw him leave or worse yet, he told Greg he'd killed her just to make him crazy. Greg didn't "squeal" on him, but did track him down and kill him.

But then, who killed Greg? Mom? Brother Tom? Will's wife Jennifer?

Response: The theories you suggest are all plausible, but currently remain unsubstantiated.
We have contacted and interviewed several family members. Most of them declined to release information to the public. However, neither brother has any record of criminal aggression against the other.

Mon Dec 9 08:05:06 1996

Three quick questions:

1. In Will Gilbin's autobiographical brief it said that he'd been on extended vacation for approximately 12 weeks. When did he actually leave on this vacation?

2. Do we know if Will visited his mother during this period?

3. What was Will's relationship to his mother? Were they close?

Response: 1. Will Giblini left for vacation on March 25, 1995.
2. No, he didn't visit her.
3. By all accounts, the relationship was normal.

Mon Dec 9 01:42:38 1996

I would like to make a comment about the Sun., Dec. 8 entry referring to the "cryptic" messege left to you; I think this person believes that Purity or "PURE" is responsible for these deaths.

Response: Thanks for the clarification. Purity Knight is currently missing and we are on the lookout. We have questions for her, although she's alibied up for the Vilson murder.

Mon Dec 9 01:34:24 1996

Dectective Armstrong,

Has there been any luck locating Purity Knight? And is there a current photograph of her?

Response: Not yet.

Mon Dec 9 01:27:45 1996

Dectecive Armstrong,

I was wondering if anyone from your department has questioned Valerie's adopted parents and/or William Giblini's wife?

Response: Both parties have been contacted and interview. They have declined to release most of the information to the public. However, we hope to be able to provide some documents soon.

Mon Dec 9 00:25:25 1996

What did the woman do?

Response: Which woman? Please be more specific.

Sun Dec 8 21:01:35 1996

How Do you think the blood found on the refrigerator got there?

Response: The murderer appears to have splashed the blood onto the refrigerator deliberately.

Sun Dec 8 20:48:56 1996

why couldn't the envelope be opened? could it be opened if she had left instructions in her will or something like that saying: in the event I am murdered I give law enforcement authorities permission to open any mail I may receive? what can be done?

Response: The envelope was opened, and found to contain a letter from a boy in an exchange program in Switzerland.

Sun Dec 8 18:35:31 1996

how did the 4th fax sent to her sister get there on the 3rd of april when the victims body discovered on the 2nd of april....I believe the drugs had a big part in the killings which her boyfriend and his brother are majorly involved..

Response: The fax was sent to the University of Mississippi Theatre Department, and was never collected. We requisitioned the originals in Mountain Home.
Feberal authorities are investigating possible drug connections. Their activities are classified.

Sun Dec 8 14:11:42 1996

Who killed g. gilbin? He killed the others. Need more evidence from greg's murder scene. Any links from anyone invoved to this murder? The answer is PURE! Seasons change mad things rearrange, but it all remains the same, forget the diary, did he act alone, the answer is pure.

Response: More information from the Giblini murders will be made available via abstracts and facsimile documents.

As for your cryptic references. I need something less abstract.

Sat Dec 7 21:06:12 1996

>We've recently submitted a second request to the Postmaster >General for permission
>to open the sealed letter. We'll let you know if we receive >clearance.

I've always found that it is better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. Letters can be read w/o opening them too.

Also, the threats from unknown parties angry about V's involvement with the abortion are not mentioned in any of the previous comments. Could they not have killed this person and mutilated her in the genitallia area as "punishment" for her involvement?

Response: The letter came from a boy in an exchange program in Switzerland. As for "activists' responsible for the Vilson murder. No such organizations exist in the area. Neither have there been any reports of abortion related violence

The incidents mentioned in the diary were never reported to the police.

Sat Dec 7 11:31:36 1996

What, if any, evidence is there to suggest that Valerie's hard-drive was deliberately wiped, or done-in by the power surge?

Response: The drive platters were fused together in several places. A normal power surge would never make it to the drive platters. It is possible the computer was opened and power applied directly to the drive.

Sat Dec 7 11:29:57 1996

Is there any evidence of Greg knowing that Val was using birth control pills? If he did, then why did he buy condoms? If he didn't, then was he seen purchasing condoms at any other time or location? His buying condoms on a regular basis would establish a pattern, therfore indicating that he intended on having intercourse with Val sometime during his visit.
Also, since Valerie's body showed no signs of recent sexual activity, how much time must pass before a woman's vagina, etc. return to 'normal'?

Response: The convenience store clerk had never seen Giblini before.

As for the length of time for normalcy to return. I don't know. Let me check on that.

Sat Dec 7 11:18:49 1996

Is this a real case,or a made up case?

Response: Persons wishing information regarding the factuality of this investigation should send e-mail to [email protected] with the subject heading: Faulkner

Sat Dec 7 11:16:52 1996

How do you think the cat got blood on him?

Response: From either biting the suspect or from a wound on the suspect.

Sat Dec 7 11:16:32 1996

Great site! I found myself becoming more and more intrigued.
I was wondering if any of the films Greg made of Val, or
anyone else for that matter, have ever been recovered? And
if so, will you be able to reveal the content of said films?

ps. I know this is kinda weird, but.....I saw a TV News article regarding Animal Psychics. Maybe you could have the cat "interviewed" by one.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

Response: We're talking with Giblini's family to somehow release an entire short film. They're too long for Internet download, so they'd have to be put on a CD.

As for an animal psychic. Send me a name.

Fri Dec 6 16:40:03 1996

what was the time of the crime, biach?

Response: The coroner's report suggests that time of death was approximately 6 a.m.

Fri Dec 6 12:41:55 1996

In an earlier post: "Good observation earlier in the thread... that is, the connection between Val's bath and William's body found in the tub. If there's a connection, we're suddenly looking at revenge."

Response [Det. A]: Agreed. There may be some significance to the pattern.

If revenge is a motive in William Giblini's murder, this functionally eliminates Greg as a suspect in Val's murder, for it is apparent that Greg killed his brother, IMO. William was killed in Miami in July, '95, and Greg appears to have spent time in the general region after Val's murder--he was spotted in Tift, GA around Apr. 21. (While I can find no Tift, GA, there is a Tifton, GA, near the southern border of the state.) Perhaps this suggests Greg as a suspect...

Fri Dec 6 12:28:56 1996

> Also in her diary on 1/10 she mentions a Laura Palmer???

A previous poster wanted to know who Laura Palmer is, as Val alluded to this character in her diary. Laura Palmer is a ficticious character in a popular David Lynch TV series that ran a few years back called Twin Peaks.

Response: Thank you.

Fri Dec 6 12:22:53 1996

What does the plane ticket have anything to do with Val?

Val was murdered Apr. 2. The ticket specified a trip between the 3rd and 5th of Apr.

Where did they find it?

Don't know that yet.

Val lived in Mississippi, the plane ticket was to Memphis Tennessee, and Atlanta Georgia.

Read Val's diary. Greg left to take a job in Memphis, and Val traveled there often to see him. Further, Greg was spotted in Tift, GA c. Apr. 21 (see timeline).

Whats the connection between this and val being murdered?

Don't know that yet, either, and the detectives aren't saying.

Fri Dec 6 06:00:46 1996

how many suspects are there?

Response: That information is currently classified. We'll post an update as soon as it's prudent to do so.

Fri Dec 6 05:36:04 1996

IN A PAST QNICSE THER WAS A SHOW THAT TOLD OF A MAN WHO COULD CHANG A GUN SO THAT IT COULD FIRE DEFERNT THEN IT DID THE FRIST TINME. ISAY YOU TAKE THE GUN TO SOMEONE THAT CAN DO THIS KIND OF STOUFE. I WOULD ASK HIM IF THER WAS BEEN A CHANG MADE TO THE GUN. I THINK THAT YOU MIGHT FIED SOME THING THAT LOOKS UNUSALY.

JHON 15

Response: Thank you for the suggestion. We'll look into it.

Fri Dec 6 03:25:11 1996

Do you think it is possible that Laine Watkins is an allias for Lisa Woods. L=Laine W=Woods? Or, is it possible that Val bought a ticket under a different name because she was afraid of her birthfather? Also in her diary on 1/10 she mentions a Laura Palmer. Did I miss who this is? If you know, let me know please. I am fascinated with this case.

Response: We're currently investigating the origin of the airline ticket, but cannot release further information to the public. We'll update you as soon as we can.

Fri Dec 6 01:07:03 1996

Does Lisa Wood know you published her e-mail address
([email protected]). Is that a real address?

Response: Yes, she knows we published it, and has responded to several queries related to the case.

Thu Dec 5 17:47:53 1996

What does the plane ticket have anything to do with Val? Where did they find it? Val lived in Mississippi, the plane ticket was to Memphis Tennessee, and Atlanta Georgia. Whats the connection between this and val being murdered?

Response: We cannot release further information about the ticket at this time. Stay tuned for updates.

Thu Dec 5 17:27:36 1996

Was Laine Watkins the purchaser of the round trip ticket? If so, who is this person and what relation did he have with Val? Also, was the ticket even used. I also would like to know why you can't open the letter that was found at Val's house if it could possibly contain the answer to the murders. Couldn't this be considered evidence?

Please respond, I am really interested in this case.

Response: Details concerning the plane ticket cannot be released at this time. We'll update you as soon as we can.

As for the letter, it was opened, and found to contain correspondence from a boy in an exchange program in Switzerland.

Thu Dec 5 17:18:16 1996

just so one of the reader's know, I did some research. There is on Oxford University in Lafayette County in Mississippi. So he better work a little harder than 4 hours on this case. He has not proved anything.

Response: Thank you.

Thu Dec 5 15:22:13 1996

Where is the boyfriend now?
What did he answer?
Did he appear nervous while being questioned?

Response: I assume you are referring to the victim's boyfriend, Greg Giblini, who was found dead in his apartment on March 13.

Thu Dec 5 14:56:55 1996

Your new evidence is interesting. Someone bought an airline ticket in Memphis and headed for Atlanta on the April 3, the day after Val s body was found. This same person was scheduled to return to Memphis on April 5. (I may have the origination and destination points reversed.) What connection is there to Atlanta? None, really. How about Georgia? Greg was in Tift, GA after the murder. I know you're not saying much about your new evidence, but has Greg become a primary suspect?

Response: Details concerning the plane ticket are classified at this time. More information to come.

Thu Dec 5 13:38:23 1996

according to my records University,Ms.is located in Lafayette County. There is no such county in MS.Good job anyway Armstrong you had me going for 4hrs.

Thu Dec 5 13:30:35 1996

points to ponder;how much of Wills blood was on the cat?did it apeared to be dripped or smeared on the cat? could G.have put Wills blood on cat?The cat file was empty on my screen

Response: The blood appeared near the cat's mouth, suggesting that the cat bit Will Giblini. The blood does not appear to have been smeared on deliberately.

As for the file being empty, we'll look into it.

Thu Dec 5 12:39:10 1996

This is an excellent idea. Congratulations to the designer. I would like to keep a close eye on this case and try to solve it so please do not lose interest. I am a student in Northern Ireland and I found this quite by chance keep the info flooding in.

Response: Thanks for your support.

Thu Dec 5 11:02:55 1996

another point to ponder.how much blood was on the cat?My file is empty concerning the blood on the cat? Was it dripped or smeared? G. could have gathered up Wills blood and put it on the cat?Ted changed passwords to computer, therefore pissing off G. even more, he may not have been able to read the exerpts after that?HOW COME YOU WONT LET ME ENTER THESE LAST POINTS? IS BECAUSE OF THE CAT EVIDENCE?

Response: As stated above. the blood does not appear to have been smeared deliberately.

Thu Dec 5 10:53:24 1996

Good observation earlier in the thread... that is, the connection between Val's bath and William's body found in the tub. If there's a connection, we're suddenly looking at revenge.

Response: Agreed. There may be some significance to the pattern.

Thu Dec 5 10:35:56 1996

another point to ponder.how much blood was on the cat?My file is empty concerning the blood on the cat? Was it dripped or smeared? G. could have gathered up Wills blood and put it on the cat?

Response: As stated above, the blood does not appear to have been placed on the cat intentionally.

Thu Dec 5 10:23:41 1996

G.set up new passwords to com.,therefore had access to diary.when exerpts found concerning Will and the thoughts they shared he was furious but held it in.According to diary he left earlier than usual, after just 24hrs. g. said he was just passing through. G didnt leave,he,watched and waited for will to show. Will didnt show, G.slipped in next day to read diary exerpts then messed up computer passed words or whatever, explaining why she couldnt get back in diary. Rage was building in G.- O.K.>Day of murder:G.is there,Will shows up,G.keeps his cool to a degree and tells Will to leave.G.and Val argue about it,but make up,or so Val thinks. They have sex,G.uses a condom.G.is contemplating killing her, thats why he used a condom. He had to have known Val was on the pill. How many condoms were purchased?Dont they come in 3pks?If so he didnt use one the night before in the woods.Anyway after sex she went to sleep ,G.logs on computer reads final exerpts and becomes furious.G.shoots Val in her sleep, then baths her to get all the of him off her.G.then cleans apartment thouroughly, puts p.j.s back on her, fries out the harddrive.G.drags her in kitchen, stabs her in abd.area to make it look Prolifers were responsable.About that time Will shows up.G.wont let him in. G.cracks the door, lungs weapon at Wills face, explaining use of scarface in chat.blood from Will drips on cat as cat is entering or exiting the door like cats do when a door is opened. Will leaves he may not have seen the body or maybe he did.Death of Will:G.caught up with Will and killed him.The other other brother Tom,i think is his name, caught up with G. in San.Fran.and had him killed.... case closed dont worry about who killed G. he deserved to die. Another note to ponder; G. may have gathered up Wills blood and put it on the cat.The blood on the cat file is empty on my screen? How much blood on the cat? Was it dripped or smeared?Or could you tell?

Response: Your theory about the Vilson murder is interesting, thank you.

Thu Dec 5 08:02:37 1996

What do you mean it can be Joel too ! an why killd William his girlfriend.

Thu Dec 5 07:59:52 1996

What kind of pills did the victim had in her purse?
And i think its Joel that is the murder becouse he loved her and she loved an ather guy whos names was William and Joel murdred William after!!!

Response: The victim was carrying a vial of Prozac.

Joel Shenton provided an alibi for the night of the murder, which was subsequently verified. He is not currently a suspect.

Thu Dec 5 07:52:30 1996

Did Joel smoke?

Response: Joel does not smoke cigarettes.

Thu Dec 5 00:50:20 1996

In the Friday May 5, 1995 Edition of The Oxford Eagle there's a story about Valerie. On the side of the page is another story titled 'Body of missing Panola man found today'. I tried to read this article as well, but the print was too small. Was this man murdered too? And if so, was he linked with any of the key players in this case? Could there be any connection between the two deaths?

Response: The two cases do not appear to be linked.

Wed Dec 4 21:33:35 1996

I think Valerie Vilson met a man at the bar and did leave with him, i think that someone called and told greg and he was in a jealous rage and went to Valerie's apartment and killed Valerie. I think the man at the bar did not kill Valerie I think that he went on his way.
Greg first did not let her know that he knew about the other man and corhersted her to drink and smoke marijuana so they could have sex with him and in the act killed her.

I maybe wrong but that is what I gathered.

From
[email protected]

Wed Dec 4 18:00:02 1996

Don't you think you spent too much time on the Val Harper investigation. It is pretty clear that Will killed her. Go to Greg's murder

Response: We are still investigating all three murders.

Wed Dec 4 16:31:46 1996

Wouldn't the person who killed Valerie be covered with blood? After shooting her in bed and moving her body to the bathroom doesn't it seem that the killer would have gotten blood on themselves?

Was there blood found in the hallway or whatever the path was from the bedroom to the bathroom?

Also, wouldn't they have aleast gotten some on them when mutilating the body and then dressing it?

What about the killer's bloody clothes? Don't you think someone would have noticed if there was a person walking around with blood all over them?

The only way for someone not to have bloodied their clothes was to commit the crime in the nude and to have taken a shower afterward.

Response: It's been suggested that the murderer may have bathed before leaving the crime scene. No blood was found in the hallway or outside the apartment.

Wed Dec 4 15:29:20 1996

Okay,

So Will killed Val, Greg killed Will. But who killed Greg, and why? If it was not Joey, the Knights, or Jake Rohleen, who was it?!?!

Response: We're trying to solve that mystery.

Wed Dec 4 13:55:05 1996

Do you believe there is any connection with Will being found in a bath tub and the bathing of Valerie after she was killed?

Response: It's possible.

Wed Dec 4 08:12:07 1996

I think so too, but how do we get him?

Wed Dec 4 08:10:29 1996

Who is the murder?

Response: We're trying to answer this question.

Wed Dec 4 04:19:55 1996

it is william, dont you think

Response: Blood found on the cat suggests that William was at the scene of the crime. However, evidence is far from conclusive that he committed the murder.

Wed Dec 4 04:19:02 1996

the boy friend where is he now?

Response: I assume you refer to the victim's boyfriend, Greg Giblini, who was found dead March 13.

Wed Dec 4 03:23:53 1996

I've only visited this site a couple of times, and let me tell
you it's a case like this that makes me glad I'm only a deputy
in a small NY county. However, from what evidence I've seen
it appears that Will killed Val, for some reason, whether it
was because they were having an affair, or if she knew more
than she was telling, about some illegal happenings Will was
involved in. Will's blood on the cat and the fact that her
hard drive was wiped out (Will was good with computers) points
to him. I don't think he is the one that mutilated her though.
I think Greg either caught him in the act, or came in shortly
after Will left the scene. Saw her dead in bed, knew who did
it, and attempted to save his brother by destroying any trace
evidence (the bath) but when he got her into the kitchen, he
saw his brother's picture on the refrigerator, and went nuts.
Mutilated her, in the pelvic region, showing his jealousy
towards Val's sexual relationship with Will, and then took off
Greg then confronted Will in Miami, got into an argument of
some sort over the reasons why she was killed. Possably, Will
then told Greg of some sort of illegal activity, and then Greg
killed him. (Was Will killed in the tub, or was he put there
after?) Greg then sent a letter to his mother I beleive, stating
"I killed Scarface...) Will's face was mutilated, correct?
He left a calling card... I feel the "scarface, could mean
some sort of illegal drug activity..Greg's blood was also found
at the scene...Greg killed Will...Greg then ended up in California
where he met death...Why else would he end up dead there, besides the
fact that he went there to meet with the other party to
Will's partner in crime so to speek. I think it could be Tom...
Tom and Will were in business together... I think the company
is just a cover, maybe a way for them to launder money...
I don't know, maybe I'm way off, but hey, that's what theory's
are for...let me know what you think and/or any other developments at
[email protected]

Response: Your theory is certainly plausible, although we lack conclusive evidence. The "calling card" you mention fits with our psychological profile.

Will was beaten before being placed in the tub.

Tue Dec 3 18:46:00 1996

The way I see it, Jake Rohleen is the only suspect we have left. Does he have an alibi for the murder.

Response: Several friends saw him at a party on the night of the murder. We currently don't consider him a suspect.

Tue Dec 3 17:33:13 1996

"While we at the Church of Christ the Avenger abhor physical violence, we believe sinners should be shown the error of their ways forcefully and relentlessly."

--Frank Knight letter

Frank's .22 may not have matched ballistics. Perhaps you're in the right pasture, but haven't turned the right rock.

Response: Frank Knight provided an alibi which has been corroborated. We're still investigating leads, but do not consider him a suspect at this time.

Tue Dec 3 17:26:37 1996

Tues. Dec. 3, 1996

In the Knight's profile it states that purity was the only child and was born in September, but then turns around in Purity's profile and states that she was born in October. Which is it, or do they even know when she was born? Also, it states that Purity was the only child, and then states that she had a sister, Valerie Vilson. Was Mrs. Knight previously married? If so, could the ex be a suspect in the murder of his own daughter?

Response: Our apologies. The date in Judith Knight's brief is incorrect, and should read "October."

The victim was Purity's sister, but had been given up for adoption long before Purity was born. Although the victim was reunited with her birth parents shortly before her death, they were not close, which might explain why Judith did not list the victim as a daughter. By contrast, Purity Knight maintained close relations with the victim. Purity's biographical information attests to the fact that she accepted the victim as her sister.

The victim's diaryprovides more insight into the relationship with her birth family.

Tue Dec 3 14:36:40 1996

"Sun Dec 1 17:08:38 1996
Valerie Vilson borrowed a weapon from an instructor at
school."

What the--?!
Who is the instructor who gave Valerie the gun?
Was the transaction made on campus, and if so, are the campus administrators aware of this transgression?
I hope Sgt. Armstrong can get a hold of this person!

Response: Acting teacher Cindy Gold lent the victim the gun. As described in a witness interview with Gold, the transaction took place at Gold's apartment.

Mon Dec 2 19:32:59 1996

Was computer hard drive subjected to data recovery techniques? If so, what result?

Response: The hard drive was partially restored. The victim's diary was located.

Mon Dec 2 16:42:41 1996

Was she sexually assaulted?

Response: No.

Mon Dec 2 15:48:23 1996

Detectives,

Do you have any information on T. Giblini, the third brother,ie. alibi during the crimes, etc.?

Response: Tom Giblini was at a meeting, attended by several hundred persons. He and his family have declined to participate in the online investigation.

Mon Dec 2 15:29:05 1996

Why would you bathe a person you just shot?

Why would you bludgeon a person you just bathed?

Why would you put pajamas on a person you just bludgeoned?

If one person committed all these acts, the killer was torn between Val's life and her death. The killer wants her dead, and the killer wants her alive. The bath and the dressing are caring gestures. The gun shot and the mutilation point equally at the will to kill.

Beyond the psychosis, the killer may be a suspect with a good fascade, someone who speaks fondly of Val and misses her immensely. The killer's anger has been satisfied by V's murder. The killer's love for Val remains un-fulfilled, placing the killer squarely and undetectably among the mourners.

Sun Dec 1 20:47:00 1996

Your comments of Nov 10 that you " have reason to believe that persons involved with the
investigation have visited this site." may not be too wise. This might scare off someone who may be involved in the case and they won't log onto your website anymore, thus depriving you of an opportunity to track 'em down with packet sniffers, etc.

Other than that, thanks for taking the time to update the website. It's a fascinating and difficult case and I wish you all the luck in catching the scum(s) who committed the murders.

Response: That is a risk we are willing to take.

Sun Dec 1 19:34:15 1996

It is obvious to me that this person is guilty as sin, I think it is sad that a young person my age could become so
bad, I hope u all find this bastard and give him the death penalty, have u all asked Americas Most Wanted to show this case?? GOOD LUCK!!!
concerned citizen in Oklahoma.

Sun Dec 1 17:13:09 1996

Were The faxes SENT to valerie traced?

Have you checked the Handwriting on the faxes sent to valerie?
Did the writing match miss Knight?
Was Miss knight jealous of Her sister?

Response: The faxes traveled between Copy-Shop and the theatre department. The handwritng on all specimens match Vilson/Knight.

From all accounts the victim and Ms. Knight got along well.

Sun Dec 1 17:08:38 1996

Does Greg Own A gun? Is it a 22 Calliiber Hand Gun?
Did will?
Did Valerie?

Response: None of them legally owned a weapon. Valerie Vilson borrowed a weapon from an instructor at school.

Sun Dec 1 17:05:11 1996

Was Will ever in serious mental health?

Enough to kill Himself and The first victom?

Response: Nothing to indicate.

Sun Dec 1 17:02:21 1996

Does Will have an alibi?

Response: No. He, however, was the second victim.

Sun Dec 1 15:03:24 1996

Was the white male, age 30, her boyfriend?

Response: It was Will Giblini.

Sun Dec 1 01:52:38 1996

Since the pic was of Will, and the blood on the cat was
his, could Will have killed Val and Greg killed Will because
he found out? Also, was Will gay, because some psycho
paths tend to try to be straight and when they can't become
wrongfully angry at the woman (hence the genitalia muti
lation). And what kind of relationship did Will and
Greg have? thanks, good luck

Response: Your hypothesis is interesting. All evidence suggests that Will Giblini was heterosexual. His relationship with Greg Giblini appears to have been strained, as the victim's diary attests.
