DEAR Visitor,

Shortly after we finished talking to Raquel Santos, Detective Armstrong and I had another chat with Benito Flores. We wanted to pin him down about where he was the night Philip Fontaine was killed and maybe get a little more information about his relationships will all of the Fontaines. Unfortunately, he wasn't exactly cooperative.

Last week, Detective Armstrong got a call from a local farmer who said he had something to tell us that might help the investigation. The man was a little cagey, but it turns out he had an interesting relationship with Philip Fontaine. And Bruno Coleman. And another person.

This update includes a follow-up interview with Benito Flores and an interview with local farmer John Franklin.

Final days to enter the Whodunit Contest

Only a few more days to enter the Whodunit Contest

Do you know who killed Philip Fontaine? Time is running out to submit your theory of the case in the Whodunit Contest. Tell us who killed Fontaine and why, and you could win a prize.

Make sure you enter by Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific.

Rather not write a theory?

You can still participate in the Whodunit Contest by voting in our polls. Tell us who the killer is, what the motive was, and more by casting your vote.

By Thursday, we hope to have this thing wrapped up. With a little luck, we'll get sufficient preliminary analysis results from the Crime Lab, which will give us what we need to get arrest warrant(s) for the culprit(s).

Don't miss out on your chance to participate in the Whodunit Contest before then, Visitor.

All the best,

Det. Murphy
