DEAR Visitor,

On Friday night, May 11, 2012, George O'Connor and his stepdaughter Haley Smith found their wife and mother dead in her bed.

On the surface, the scene looked like suicide, but closer examination told Detective Armstrong and me that something wasn't right. Veronica Smith's husband and sister reinforced that suspicion when we talked to them.

In this update, we turn our attention to the people who worked with Dr. Smith, starting with one of her business partners, Dr. Hilton Burns.

Important Note: In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no update on Monday, May 28, 2012. Updates will resume on Tuesday.

Coming this week, we'll talk to some of the people who worked with Veronica Smith and the people who were with her on the evening she died and more.

All the best,

Det. Murphy
