Paul Evans, victim's estranged boyfriend |
For this update, we were able to catch up with some people of particular interest. First, we spoke to Kimberly Pace's estranged boyfriend Paul Evans. He talked to us about the status of their relationship and about a number of people he and Kimberly both knew.
When we asked him to describe his and Kimberly's relationship, he said,
Paul Evans: I'd say it was passionate. We had rocky times, of course, and you figured that out since live at Miguel's. But for the most part, it was good. When she came down to that opening that night, I knew that we'd get back together. I think so did she.
We also talked to Patrick Richards, whose name was on the column that alleged teachers were selling grades. However, Richards claims he didn't write that column.
Patrick Richards: I am so sick of that whole thing! I didn't write that column!
Detective Murphy: Is there another Patrick Richards on campus?
Patrick Richards: Not one of which I am aware. But I didn't write that column. I didn't necessarily like Professor Pace, but I certainly wouldn't attack her like that, or anyone else on the faculty for that matter.
Richards does have a theory about who might have been the author, and we're following up on that possibility.
This update also includes biographical information as well as our interview with Jacob Hunter, the boy who was riding his bike in the neighborhood the morning Kimberly Pace's body was found.
Coming on Monday, we'll hear from the person Patrick Richards claims wrote the column alleging professors could be bought, and we'll also talk to Kimberly Pace's strongest detractor in the workplace. Look for that information and more in the next update.
Plus, Ask the Detective will open on Monday, so get your questions ready.
