REPORTING OFFICER'S NARRATIVE (Brief narrative of the facts)

On 05/19/09 at 4:32am dispatch advised me (Officer Polaski) of a reported vehicle on fire on Hurricane Road. Upon my arrival on the scene I met with a Rhonda Meadows who advised me that while she was on her way to work she saw the car and it was completely engulfed with flames.

Upon my arrival the vehicle was still on fire, but contained mostly to the front of the vehicle. I maintained traffic control until the fire department arrived and the fire was put out. I inspected the vehicle to determine if there were any human remains. I found no one to be in the interior of the vehicle. Upon searching the trunk, which was not burned I located a hair barrette, and a woman’s gold chain necklace. There were no plates on the vehicle, which appeared to be a red Toyota Corolla. The vin number on the front dash had been removed as well as the sticker on the drivers side door. I secured the scene with evidence tape and contacted the Fire Marshal so he could begin his investigation. Detective Murphy was also contacted in case foul play was involved with the incident.
