Evidence: Detectives' Supplemental Report

YOKNAPATAWPHA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
Taylor Sheldon, Sheriff
Oxford, MS 38655

TO: YCSD Case File # 000181-15A-2005
FROM: Detective S. Murphy, Detective T. Armstrong
DATE: March 21, 2005
RE: Supplemental Report #065

Preliminary verbal report from the Crime Lab indicates the hacksaw recovered from the garage at the Hartigan residence on March 15, 2005 is consistent with the injuries observed on the severed limbs recovered in YCSD Case # 000181-15A-2005, Pontotoc County Case # 28L2004-02845, Panola County Case # 2005JA3-00094 and Calhoun County Case # 050135-11012005. Further analysis is in progress to verify the initial observation.

Examination of the black wheeled suitcase with extendable handle recovered from the shop at the Hartigan residence on March 15, 2005 found the contents consisted primarily of clothing and personal items. The clothing sizes were consistent with the victim, Denise Hartigan. The other item of interest found in the suitcase was a handwritten letter addressed to "Jimmy" and signed "XOXO, Rita".

Registration on the Glock 19 9mm semi-automatic pistol recovered from the living room area at the Hartigan residence on March 15, 2005 was traced. The handgun was found to be registered to Adam Hartigan. It was purchased June 23, 1995 at Nationwide Gun Store, 800 North Lamar Boulevard, Oxford Mississippi, by Adam Hartigan.

Investigation of YCSD Case # 000181-15A-2005 is active and ongoing as of this date.
